How To Write Persuasive Essays About Current Events
How To Write Persuasive Essays About Current EventsOnce upon a time I wrote essays about Current Events. It was actually my favorite subject, so that is what I did. But in the wake of George W. Bush's second term I have to admit I got a little more serious and my current events persuasive essay topics are different than they were.I have become more cognizant of what I believe in and I think I am much more cognizant of what is going on in current events. So instead of Current Events, I now write about individuals or events. It's a good way to be productive and to get the most out of your writing. And if you write about events, the essay topic is naturally more personal, and you can explain things better. The advantage to writing about individuals and events is that you can make use of just a couple of sentences to start the argument and to make your persuasive essay topics more personal. People seem to respond to stories and anecdotes. That's why you see the essays that talk about schoo l teachers and their contributions to society.I also find that when I write about current events and I use an event as my topic, I have to be much more careful because I have to make sure I don't veer off into political territory and offend people. But that is also something that you should be careful about, as you don't want to take yourself too far. I think if you can get past the politics, you can still connect to the reader. On the other hand, there are some subjects that are better candidates for a persuasive essay topic. People tend to not like certain holidays, sports figures, politicians and some religions. It's one of those things that you have to be very careful about.Readers tend to have an idea of what you are writing about already; they've made up their minds about it and they'll hold that information close to their hearts, thus it is best to write about things that they already know. Current events would not be a good topic for this type of essay, because the person is already on board with that.Remember, whatever kind of persuasive essay topics you choose, you always want to come across as objective and honest. Don't ever veer into the subject of politics, or religious beliefs or how much you hate a politician, because your reader will not appreciate that kind of polemic.
